Amerikahaus_Muenchen-1

On November 15th, 2013 all 9th classes of our school went to the “America House” to watch the play “The Wave“. We went there by train. At the “America House” we got our tickets and had the chance to look around, before the show started. It was very interesting to look at the pictures which hang around. After 15 minutes we went to our seats in front of the stage and waited for the start of the play.

The show started with a song, sung by four of the five actors. The actors were four students and their teacher. After a while the teacher called Mr. Ross came onto the stage and talked to his students.

He showed them a film about Hitler and the Nazis. After the film the four students were very scared about this bad man, and so Mr Ross started the project “The Wave”. He trained his students to be “Nazis” to demonstrate Hitler’s concept (how Hitler got so many people on his side). The worst thing was, that the four students didn’t know anything about Mr. Ross’s plan. They thought there were some new rules in the class, e. g. to give a salute to Mr. Ross or stand up when he talked to them. At the end the project got out of control and was unstoppable – Mr. Ross had created “Nazis”.

After one hour there was a short break, in which we could drink something or eat our sandwiches. When the show was over, we all had lots of stuff to talk about, because the visit was a great success. Then it was time to go home by train or stay there and go shopping with our friends in Munich.

It was a great day at the “America House”.
